Itinerary

Day 1

  • 6:00 AM: Early morning pick-up from your location (Ahungalla / Bentota / Hikkaduwa).
    • Begin the scenic drive to Udawalawe National Park with light refreshments provided during the journey.
  • 9:00 AM: Arrive at Udawalawe National Park, one of the best places in Sri Lanka to see wild elephants.
    • Meet your safari jeep and friendly, knowledgeable guide.
    • Receive a brief introduction to the park’s flora and fauna.
  • 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Enjoy a thrilling 3-hour jeep safari through the park.
    • Witness herds of wild elephants in their natural habitat.
    • Spot other wildlife such as crocodiles, water buffalo, sambar deer, monkeys, and exotic bird species.
    • Learn fascinating facts about the park’s ecosystem from your guide.
  • 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM: Take a break for lunch at a local restaurant (optional, not included).
  • 2:00 PM: Visit the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home, a rehabilitation center for orphaned elephant calves.
    • Watch baby elephants being fed and cared for as they prepare for life in the wild.
  • 3:00 PM: Depart from Udawalawe and relax during the return journey.
